Handmade McCall's 7247 in Double Layered Knit

Hello there! Yesterday may have been National Coffee Day, but I think I'm celebrating today. I've had several extra cups this morning while I slowly pencil in the next week's to-do's. A high point of the beginning of this week: this incredibly comfy top I made from McCall's 7247. I used two layers of soft, 100% cotton jersey knits. The outside is a heather gray (available here), and the inside is a beautiful violet (not available anymore).

The top overlaps in a tulip-style in the front, and if I were to make it again, I would make the overlap a bit longer in the front.

I typically don't sew with knits. As I continue to grow and expand my sewing experience, I find that I am pleased with things that previously scared me, and this is certainly the case with this knit top.

This dual-layered cutie will be great in the winter, and I would like to make another short-sleeved version for the warmer months. Have you made this blouse? What does your version look like? Thank you for reading and happy Monday!

  3. Beautiful job! I love the colors you chose! The pop of color underneath or when you roll up the sleeves is very fun. I am adding this to my "to sew" list (it's the perfect season for it!).

    1. Thank you, miss! I purchased both from The Tin Thimble. They don't have the violet anymore, but I just linked the heather gray in the post.
