Seamwork Magazine's Hayden in Striped Chambray

Hey there!

I'm popping in today to share one of my more recent makes: the 'Hayden' top by Seamwork magazine

I made mine in a size 4. I used the longer version but shortened the length by about 2". Mine is made with this striped 100% cotton chambray from The Tin Thimble.

There are two versions of this pattern, an updated one, and an older one. I didn't realize there was an updated version, so mine is the older version and it fits me just fine. I will say, however, that I am quite narrow through the shoulders and the chest above my boobs, so I can imagine how this might be too tight for those who aren't so narrow/shallow through these measurements.

Playing with the stripes and the panels on this pattern was super fun and I like how it turned out. I wanted the stripes to alternate where the side panels were, but I do wish I had matched the stripes on my sleeves better to the stripes on the bodice from and back pieces. I really thought I had placed them correctly, but apparently NOT. Haha, oops.

All in all, I'd recommend this pattern, dear readers. It was a fun, simple project and the fabric possibilities for this blouse are nearly endless. It has a small button & loop closure in the back, but doesn't have any zippers or complicated closures, which is refreshing to find in a garment from time to time.

If you're interested, you can find more about this blouse in my Instagram stories under 'recent makes'. Follow me at @palindromedrygoods.

Thanks so much for reading, everyone. I hope you're all happy and well! We'll see eachother again soon!
