McCall's 7752 Off the Shoulder Top in Floral Lawn

Hello everyone!

I am pretty excited to share today's handmade garment with you. When I saw McCall's 7752 I loved everything about it. It's super feminine, flowy, flirty and great for summer. I had a couple of yards of this lightweight floral on hand and it just seemed like a perfect match to me.

This beautiful 100% cotton lawn is only $6.00/yard and can be found here. (**Pssssssst. Pssst. Don't forget you can use code 'PALINDROME' over at The Tin Thimble's Etsy shop for 10% off your purchase of all fabrics, buttons, patterns, trims, and sewing supplies! Just my little way of saying thank you to everyone who reads and supports this blog. xoxo.**)

I didn't make a muslin for this blouse, but I should have. I cut out a size 12 and did end up having to take in the bodice by about 1". The little 'sleeves' (if you can even call them that) also had to come in about 3/4 each.

The bodice is fully lined with plain white cotton and it has one bone on each side, underneath the armpit. These bones help keep the blouse right where it's supposed to be. I don't have to hitch it up and I don't feel like it's sliding around. I love, love, love how it fits!

After trying to pair this blouse with several pants and shorts, I think the peplum is too long. I do think I'll re-hem it and take off about 2" so the proportions look better with the bottom half of my outfits.

All in all, this will definitely be one of my summer go-to tops. It turned out just as I had envisioned and I can't wait to wear it out in the wild!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a great weekend!

-Hannah
