Handmade Vogue 5256 With Added Keyhole in Vintage Greeff Fabric

I was going to wait to blog about this dress, I really was. I had a grand plan that involved letting you all get very anxious for my next post. I made this dress over the weekend after being oddly inspired by a very simple little pattern, vintage Vogue 5256. My sister Lisa had given me some to die for vintage upholstery fabric (personally, I think it's way too lightweight for upholstery, but anyway) and I had been waiting for the perfect project to use it and well, I found it. Lately I've been inspired by all the keyhole backs in dresses and tops and this Vogue pattern turned out to be the perfect, easily altered pattern in which to insert a cute little open oval in the back.

The garment is completely finished with a self-lined bodice, french seams and bias tape.

Here's a close-up of the fabric.  It is "Cinerarias from the "Spring & Summer" flower collection by Greeff". Circa sometime the late 50's, early 60's is my guess.

As always, thank you for reading and supporting this little blog of mine! Comments and questions are greatly appreciated and increase my sense of accomplishment by 100.
